Habitat for Habitat for Humanity @ the Center

Habitat for Humanity of Steele-Waseca Area spent the last two weeks putting poly on doors and trim for house 24 in Owatonna. We received the swing doors as a donation from St. Mary’s school.

Last year, St. Mary’s had temporary classrooms built in Pillsbury. The students, teachers and staff took such great care of the walls and doors that we were able to reuse all of it in our current house build on Glendale St. This house is very unique in the sense that it has metal studs, most residential houses do not use metal studs. It’s so great to see the house finally shaping up! We have walls, doors, windows, a garage and soon cabinets and flooring.

With the hopes of selling the house at the end of April to our worthy homebuyers, we have lots of work left to do. The volunteers that helped us put poly on the doors and trim were wonderful and we always need volunteers. Thank you Owatonna Area Business Development Center for hosting us to stain our doors and trim. It was the perfect worksite with lots of space for the project!
