Local Artist Supports Farmer Fire Victims

Cattle producers in Kansas, New Mexico, and Colorado are still trying to recover from the wildfires that swept their states early last month. If you are unfamiliar with their plight the following New York Times article helps to put it in perspective.
How does a local artist get involved helping cattle producers several states away? George Sierakowski learned of the situation when the auction was mentioned by a friend of a friend a friend. One of those friends had ties to Iowa. The idea to help? That is all George.
The Iowa Cattlemen's Association, through the Iowa Cattlemen's Foundation, is hosting on on line auction to raise money for those directly impacted by these fires. The auction will be held on April 7th but right now they are accepting pre-bids.
George Sierakowski's primary subject matter is wildlife and outdoor scenes. One of his pheasant images was third place in the competition for the Minnesota State Pheasant stamp. For more information on George's work he can be contacted via email at www.artbygs@hotmail.com
